The Bogard system was home to at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was located in the Markesan Operational Area of the Crucis March within the Federated Suns.[1][2]

System Description

The Bogard system is located near the Charleywood and Kestrel systems.[3]

System History

Bogard was settled at some point during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was incorporated into the Federated Suns during or shortly before the Age of War.[4][5]

First Succession War

In 2789 the Draconis Combine began a hugely successful invasion of the Federated Suns, with Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery units pouring across the border and conquering system after system while the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns desperately tried to mount a defense amidst mass confusion and conflicting orders exacerbated by the DCMS specifically targeting communications systems and JumpShips as priorities for destruction to disrupt communications. The first attempt to break the invasion was mustered by First Prince John Davion in 2788, and that attempt - Operation SOLAR SHIELD - was an expensive disaster. By the time Prince John's second plan had begun at the end of 2789, Bogard was one of the worlds under Combine occupation.[35][10]

Prince John's second plan - a massive naval response under the operational command of Admiral Kenneth Jones - saw AFFS forces return to Bogard in early 2790. The AFFS battle group was commanded by Vice Admiral Marjorie Stone and spent a week hunting down the Draconis Combine Admiralty ships in the system before moving on to strike at the DeWitt system; in addition to the two DCMS transport JumpShips destroyed in the Bogard system, Stone's battle group also destroyed the DCS Benjamin, the oldest Samarkand I-class carrier in service.[10]

Bogard was liberated by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns in 2810 as part of the second major AFFS counter-offensive of the First Succession War against the Draconis Combine.[12]
