The Dar-es-Salaam system was home to at least one habitable world, Dar-es-Salaam I, and as at 3145 was located in the Wolf Empire.[2][3]

System Description

The Dar-es-Salaam system is located near the Mariefred and Senftenberg systems.[2][3]

System History

The Dar-es-Salaam system was colonized in the mid-twenty-fifth century by Muslim colonists from the Middle Eastern and North African regions of Terra.[1]

Dar-es-Salaam I

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Dar-es-Salaam I - more commonly known simply as Dar-es-Salaam - is the innermost planet in the system and is a desert world with two moons, named Jibril and Luqman.[1]

Planetary History

Early colonization efforts bypassed Dar-es-Salaam, because of its harsh environment; a desert world, with higher temperatures at its poles than many other planets could manage at their equator, the planets harsh environment made other worlds more appealing. The colonists who finally settled the world in the mid-twenty-fifth century were Muslims drawn from the Middle Eastern and North African regions of Terra, who viewed the terrain and environment on the world as a reminder of the regions that had been their homelands for centuries. The colonists named the planet Dar-es-Salaam, or "Haven of Peace", and over the centuries it became the center of the Muslim faith within the Lyran Commonwealth.[1]

The Twentieth Lyran Guards were posted to Dar-es-Salaam in 2762 and immediately began causing problems for the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces High Command; best described as a belligerent unit, the Twentieth began clashing with the religious tenets of the civilian population from the outset.[4]
