Douglas Piper was an Armor officer with Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit.
History[edit]
Early Career[edit]
In 3030 the then-Captain Piper was the commander of an Armor company (Piper's Company - The Long Riders), which formed part of the Support Battalion of Wolf's Dragoons, including taking part in the September 3026 assault on Barlow's End.[1]
Piper was a dedicated mechanic as well as Armor officer, who spend his time either reading books on tactics or working on his tank, and had no desire for higher command. This resulted in taunting and teasing from his fellow Armor commander, then-Captain Edna Grazier, for his lack of ambition.
Dragoon Civil War[edit]
In 3054, Douglas Piper was the commanding officer of the elements of Support Battalion that sided with Elson Novacat during the Dragoon Civil War, taking the opposite side to his old sparing partner Colonel Edna Grazier, who by then was the overall commanding officer of the Dragoons' Armored Operations.[2]
After the Civil War, Piper retained command as a major of the Dragoons' Armored Support Brigade (Wiley's Rogues) as of 3055, under Support Command leader Colonel Jason Ward.[3]
Vehicle[edit]
Piper was known to command a Saracen Medium Hovertank, which he had christened "Dotty."[1]
