Elise Graham was the wife of First Lord Richard Cameron.

History[edit]

Elise Graham was from England on Terra, and in her adolescence attended Lake Stephens Grammar School. In 2760, she met first-term student Richard Cameron, a spiteful 16-year-old set on dominating his classmates. Graham would publicly mock Cameron whenever he tried to bully her, and even slapped him and punched one of his bodyguards when they tried to intervene. Rather than respond with anger, Cameron laughed and fell in love. Her strength of spirit and determination to "rescue" him won him over, and they married three years later in early 2763. Their daughter Amanda was born in February 2766.[2]

Following Stefan Amaris' takeover of the Terran Hegemony and murder of Richard Cameron on 27 December 2766, seventy-nine members of the Cameron family were quickly detained by Republican forces, many of whom were already in Unity City for various festivities. After initially showing them kindness and comfortable accommodations, Amaris had them all brought to the Throne Room on 21 January 2767. Under the premise that he did not want anyone to challenge his rule, he required everyone to swear fealty to him and forswear any claim to the Hegemony or Star League thrones. Elise Graham refused for both her and her daughter, as did the next eighteen relatives.[1][4]

The twenty-first member of the family to be asked was Jason Cameron-Bashina. He knelt before the Emperor and pledged his undying loyalty to him, to which he was subsequently shot dead with the same pistol that killed Richard. The remaining Camerons, realizing their lives were lost, attempted to rush Amaris on the throne, only to be cut down by his guards. Amaris left the chamber and ordered it sealed, leaving their fallen bodies as they were until Aleksandr Kerensky liberated Unity City in 2779.[1][4]
