Eliza Zhao was the officer with the Dynasty Guard at least from 3145[1] to 3147[2].

History[edit]

She was a friend of Danai Liao-Centrella.

The three-pronged Davion offensive, Operation CERBERUS, hit Taygeta on 23 November 3147 and threatens to overrun the defending Dynasty Guard regiment under Eliza Zhao's command. The elite unit fought back, but Zhao received orders from the Chancellor himself to withdraw to New Syrtis as the Chancellor had divined the attackers' ultimate goal.

CERBERUS' Task Force Styx jumped into the New Syrtis system on 4 December, half (including Julian Davion aboard his DropShip Kingsman) at the lunar L2 pirate jump point and the other half (including the Fortune Charlie mercenary contingent, with Tally's Talons aboard the DropShip Maxilla) at the planet's own L2 point. Both forces were engaged by Capellan defenders and suffered casualties. Tally Zheng felt that the mercenary contingent was used as bait, and in private talk with her XO doubted reports that the House troops were hit equally hard.

The hard-fought campaign culminated in the attack against The Cave, New Syrtis's underground command center. During the fighting, Tally Zheng revealed that her unit had a secret head-hunting contract with the Capellans for First Prince Julian Davion. However, her backstabbing attempt was thwarted by Mal Faulkner, who defends (and thus saved) the First Prince on instinct.

The Capellan defenders continued the fight even after the loss of The Cave, but on 21 December they make a stand in a Jihad era ruin of a city where they were crushed, with Eliza Zhao was fatally wounded and her mech' fell to the ground, dying in the cockpitt.[3]

A Year later, during the battle of Operation WHIRLWIND, the capellan counterattack on New Syrtis, in the same irradiated wasteland, a blackened and facedown Tian-Zong was seen laying, impliying it was Eliza's, though it is unknown if her mortal remains were still inside.[4]

BattleMech[edit]

Eliza's only known 'Mech was a Tian-Zong.[5]
