The Elnath system contained at least one habitable planet or construct, and as at 3145 was a part of the Sarna Commonality of the Capellan Confederation.[1][2]

System Description

System History

The Elnath system was settled during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[3][4]

Planetary History

Second Succession War

Elnath was attacked during the course of a highly successful operation conducted by the Free Worlds League Military and led by the Fusiliers of Oriente in 2832; although Elnath and the nearby world of Ventabren avoided being conquered, unlike the worlds of Berenson, Kyrkbacken and Zion, the defending forces on both worlds took heavy damage before the FWLM forces were pushed back by a heavy counterattack.[31]

Fourth Succession War

Following the speech given by First Prince Hanse Davion on the 16th of November 3029, the official day of thanks in the Federated Suns, contained a number of revelations including the creation of the St. Ives Compact and was taken by many as an open sign that the Fourth Succession War was close to ending.[32] The Armed Forces of the Federated Suns launched the Seventh Wave of Operation RAT shortly after, in a determined effort to secure as many systems as possible for an armistice was declared. The Seventh Wave capitalised on negotiations that had been conducted in secret between the Federated Suns and various planetary governments in the remnants of the Sarna Commonality who lacked defenses and were far more fearful of being annexed by the Free Worlds League, a state hated for centuries of raids and invasions, than they were the Federated Suns. In the last week of November the AFFS occupied thirteen systems, including Elnath. The AFFS encountered little resistance, and relatively few troops were needed to provide a garrison to maintain calm.[16]
