The Fellanin system was the location of at least one inhabited world, Fellanin II, and as at 3145 was located in the Proserpina Prefecture of the Benjamin Military District within the Draconis Combine.[2][3]

System Description

The Fellanin II system is located near the David and Sadalbari systems[2][3] and consists of a class an F3V primary orbited by two planets.[1]

System History

The Fellanin II system was colonised at some point during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra.[4]

Fellanin II

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Fellanin II is an inhospitable world with three moons named Davius, Elric and Goliath.[1]

Planetary History

At some point approximately a thousand years before interstellar flight was possible Fellanin II was struck by an asteroid the size of a city. The impact devastated the local environment, transforming a world with a paradise-like environment into an arid planet where colonists had to live underground. The first colonists to settle Fellanin II were looking to exploit the vast deposits of minerals and petrochemicals found underneath the surface of the planet, a practise that was still continuing in the thirty-second century. The majority - but not all - of the settlements to survive on Fellanin were constructed underground, and connected to Firstport by long subterranean rail lines. The settlements are supported by protected farms fed by underground seas tapped by the local population, and all of the settlements are located near the various surface seas.[1]

Succession Wars

The Clovis Draconis March Militia raided Fellanin to destroy the 100-meter-tall monument to Jinjiro Kurita. For three days the unit tried to break the mountain passes, while DCMS units tired to defend the secret Aerospace Fighter factory built in the same mountain range where the statue was. Only after destroying the statue, did they try to go against the factory, but at that time Combine DropShips had already lifted with most of the usable equipment. The statue was sent in pieces back to Kentares.[5]

Geography

Fellanin II lacks true continents; the geography of the world following the asteroid strike was defined by the five large seas, which were seperated by very arid land. The surface areas of Fellanin II not covered by water are sandy, rocky, and possess poor levels of vegetation. The largest of the seas on Fellanin II is North Sea; the other, smaller seas are known as the Dry Sea, the Great Expanse, LArson's Sea and the South Sea.[1]

Planetary Locations

  • Firstport: the planetary capital city and spaceport, located near North Sea. In contrast with the majority of the settlements on Fellanin II, Firstport is a domed city.[1]
