Acolyte Greta McGruder was a friend and colleague of ComStar Primus Sharilar Mori, who assassinated Mori on discovery of her betrayal of ComStar to the Draconis Combine in 3068, and immediately after committed suicide.

History

Early History

McGruder was the daughter of Rasalhague patriots, who died during the repression of the Rasalhague independence movement by the Draconis Combine, and subsequently joined ComStar. Prior to the assassination, McGruder was not a violent person, but rather a peaceful and devoted believer in ComStar's teachings attributed to Jerome Blake.

While part of ComStar, McGruder became Primus Mori's most trusted friend and aide, even sharing with her the stories of the horrors she experienced as a child at the hands of Kurita forces.

Assassination

However, on learning Mori was really an agent of the Order of Five Pillars and the hated Draconis Combine while with Mori in her office on Orestes, McGruder snapped and in a moment of rage, assassinated Mori by cutting her neck with broken glass from a fallen photo frame.

McGruder explained the reasoning for her actions to Precentor ROM Victoria Parrdeau, but in the process became overcome with regret, and killed herself by cutting her own right jugular with broken glass.

The Word of Blake celebrated McGruder for her actions as the "Blessed Acolyte McGruder", though in their public propaganda they also credited Victoria Parrdeau with assisting her, despite McGruder having acted alone.
