The Hardcore system was home to at least one habitable world, Hardcore IV, and as of 3145 was located in the Magistracy of Canopus.[2][3]

System Description

The Hardcore system is located near the Harminous and Novo Tressida systems[4][5] and consists of a class G3 primary orbited by at least four planets. During the Thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system zenith jump point.[1]

System History

The Hardcore system was either colonized or absorbed by the Magistracy of Canopus at some point during or shortly before the Age of War.[4] During the Star League era Hardcore was a part of the Canopus District of the Magistracy.[6]

Hardcore IV

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard

Hardcore IV - more commonly known simply as Hardcore - is the fourth planet in the system,[1] and during the Thirty-first[7] and Thirty-second centuries was home to a notable defense manufacturer.[8]

Planetary History

Reunification War

Hardcore was a member of the Magistracy of Canopus when a Star League Defense Force task force under the command of Captain-General Marion Marik was assigned to conquer the Magistracy in 2577. Hardcore was one of the last worlds within the Magistracy to be conquered by the SLDF in the closing stages of the war.[9]

Invaded in 2588, there were no major MAF units on Hardcore to contest the invading forces, and the SLDF landed the VII Corps' Fifty-sixth and Fifty-ninth Brigades and the 401st Independent Regiment to take possession of the world. Local forces put up a token resistance before surrendering.[9][10]

Succession Wars

By the Thirty-first century Hardcore was known throughout the Magistracy for being one of the most successful entertainment worlds. Targeting the upper crust of Magistracy and Inner Sphere society, the various entertainments available ranged from the tame (like ballet) to terrifying (including blood sports). Every spring, Hardcore hosted a series of BattleMech duels in the northern hemisphere. The citizens and visitors viewed these matches either on private monitors or on large public monitors. In 3025 Hardcore also began relying on the film industry to assist its economy.[1]
