Description
Heavy Ferro-Aluminum was first developed in the early years of the Jihad by the Lyran Alliance, but soon spread to the Word of Blake via defecting mercenary units, and from there proliferated further. Heavy Ferro-Aluminum is similar in construction to basic Ferro-Aluminum, but further increases the weight saving over Standard Armor by varying the diamond fibre concentration within the structure of the armor.[1]

Heavy Ferro-Aluminum armor provides 19.84 points of armor per ton for Conventional Fighters, AeroSpace Fighters, Small Craft, Spheroid DropShips massing less than 12,500 tons and Aerodyne DropShips weighing less than 6,000 tons. For heavier DropShips the protection offered drops as the mass of the DropShip increases as with Standard Armor and other armor types.[2] Heavy Ferro-Aluminum takes up one weapon space slot in each arc for AeroSpace Fighters.[3]
