Planetary History

Fourth Succession War

Jabuka was one of the worlds attacked in the opening wave of Operation GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG, the major Lyran Commonwealth offensive of the Fourth Succession War. Defending Jabuka were the Fifth Rasalhague Regulars, commandedby General Hichi Kanuchiwan, and the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces dispatched the Nineteenth Arcturan Guards to capture the planet. The Nineteenth's Commanding Officer, Leutnant-Colonel Yvonne Deltra, won a minor skirmish against the Fifth, prompting an extreme response from General Kanuchiwan; shocked and shamed by his defeat at the hands of a Lyran woman, Kanuchiwan committed seppuku. This left his Executive Officer commanding the Fifth; unfortunately for the Fifth, Kanuchiwan's XO was a poor tactician, and within a week the Nineteenth had forced the Fifth to abandon Jabuka.[18]

Ronin War

During the opening month of the Ronin War, March of 3034, the Ronin-aligned Fifth Rasalhague Regulars engaged the Thumpers who had been contracted by someone in the Lyran Commonwealth. The Regulars retreated from the planet, leaving the Thumpers with only light damage to their regiment.[45]

Clan Invasion

In December 3051 Jabuka was attacked by Clan Steel Viper's Alpha Galaxy, representing the Clan's first large-scale battle as part of the Fifth Wave of Operation REVIVAL. Opposing them were a pair of Regimental Combat Teams from the Federated Commonwealth, the 17th Donegal Guards and 19th Lyran Guards. Stationed near the Valairy Ridge, the two units assumed defensive positions away from each other in an effort to split the Steel Viper invasion force. Rather than attack in force, the Steel Viper hit both units with a massive artillery barrage and sent in Elemental teams to sow chaos. Their enemy confused and disorganized, the Steel Vipers advanced with their 'Mechs and aerospace fighters, badly mauling both units. The Donegal Guards barely managed to retreat in the face of Steel Viper aggression, while the Lyran Guards managed to withdraw to the nearby Caspern mountain range. They would eventually be hunted down and finished off near the Alaeni Falls, cementing Steel Viper control of Jabuka.[46]

Jihad

Clan Wolf used the attacks on the Lyran Alliance launched by Clan Jade Falcon during the Jihad to launch their own series of planetary conquests, typically shadowing the Jade Falcon advance. A wave of attacks during the first week of October 3069 saw the Wolves capture Jabuka, along with Domain, La Grave, Orkney and Rasalgethi.[34]
