Jason Carmody was an officer with the Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit.

History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

While in later years Carmody was thought by ComStar researchers to only have been a Dragoons officer for about eighteen years as of 3030 (i.e. around 3012),[2] he was actually already a Colonel and commander of the Dragoons' Orbital/Aerospace Operations Group as of 3008, where he participated in the capture of New Aragon.[3]

In any event, his career started as a shuttle pilot, learning the nature of air and space combat from the ground up.[2]

Campaigns[edit]

Carmody participated in the Dragoons' deep penetration raid on Hesperus II in 3019 while under Marik employ,[4] as well as the 3023 Dragoons' raid on the Federated Suns world of Quentin while under Kurita contract.[5]

He continued in the role of commander of the Dragoons' Orbital/Aerospace Operations Group until at least 3030, which was since the Battle of Misery in 3028 had become part of the Home Guard.[2]

Late Career[edit]

Subsequently, Carmody retired from active service for a time after suffering an injury during an action over Capella, but was recalled to serve as commander of the Dragoons' Home Guard on Outreach after the death of Colonel Jeremy Ellman sometime before 3053.[6]

Dragoon Civil War[edit]

Carmody would be killed during the opening engagement of the Dragoon Civil War in 3054, while participating in the extraction of Jaime Wolf from an attempt to assassinate Wolf by forces loyal to Elson Novacat.[7]

Personal Characteristics[edit]

Carmody was described by others as a tall black man, who in later years had snowy white hair and an age-lined face.[6] He was reputed to have a cool head and a quick intellect.[2]

Vehicle[edit]

Carmody was known to pilot a Leopard-class DropShip.[2]
