Planetary History

Early History

By the early twenty-fourth century, in the absence of central control from the Terran Alliance the world of Junction had not only survived as an independent world, but had also managed to put itself in a position to exercise control over several neighboring worlds. When Director Shiro Kurita of the Alliance of Galedon conducted a year-long tour of worlds near the Alliance in 2309-2310, he included Junction on his tour; he brought with him evidence purporting to show that one or more of the other small states nearby had designs on conquering Junction, and offered to mediate between Junction and its opponents. He also offered to protect Junction by allowing Junction and its client worlds to join the Alliance, thereby allying itself with a stronger power.[1]

The rulers of Junction accepted this proposal, not realizing that Director Kurita had invented the evidence and deliberately played a number of small states based around the worlds of Benjamin, Dieron, Luthien, Pesht and Worrell against each other, dramatically expanding the Alliance's size.[1]

Star League

Junction served as the headquarters world for the XXII Corps (Star League) of the Star League Defense Force.[38]

The Jihad

Between the 7th and 14th of August 3068 Junction was one of six worlds raided by a combination of small 'Mech units under the employ of the Draconis March of the Federated Suns and teams of Federated Suns commandos. The deep objective raids targeted undefended worlds, allegedly to find and liberate prisoners of war in captivity within the Combine since the FedCom Civil War. The six worlds targeted were Altais, Barlow's Folly, Beta Mensae V, Chichibu, Junction and Misery, and apparently some POWs were discovered.[39]
