Overview
Because it produces what many view as a House Marik fighter, the Kurita CMC (also known as KCMC) generally had a difficult time obtaining components for its product. This changed in the 3050's, however, when the companies supplying Mangon Aeronautics, former producer of the now defunct Sholagar light fighter, suddenly found themselves seeking new markets for their products.[1] After the War of 3039 KCMC used state funding from the Draconis Combine to repair and reopen the Izumi JumpShips shipyard in the Altair system,[2][3] which had been destroyed during the First Succession War.[4] KCMC then began manufacturing a new JumpShip class, the Chimeisho there.[2][3]
When the Jihad broke out in 3067, KCMC's Altair facilities would be captured by the Word of Blake. By 3079, its facilities would survive the occupation. However, with the formation of Republic of the Sphere, Draconis Combine's government would order KCMC to dismantle its Altair based factory and relocated it to world of Kajikazawa. The relocation radically changed the quite coastline community into mini-metropolis with new communities supporting it and its works. A benefit to its relocation, additional supporting industries were relocated to the world as well, lessening the supply difficulties it had on Altair.[5]
