The Mangzhangdian system was the location of at least one habitable planet.[1] Colonized by the Capellan Confederation during the Star League era, it is located in what was then the Sian Commonality of the Capellan Confederation, close to the border with the Taurian Concordat and near the worlds of Smithon and Mechdur.[2][3]

System History

Mangzhangdian was first colonized by the Capellan Confederation, but vanished again from maps during the First Succession War,[4][5] suggesting it was abandoned, depopulated or otherwise too insignificant to still warrant placing it on a map of inhabited systems. As of 2890 it was listed as an independent periphery system;[6] by that time, the Confederation had abandoned many of its periphery holdings and had moved their periphery border some thirty lightyears coreward. It last appeared on a 3022 map that showed it to be part of the Aurigan Coalition,[7] a political entity itself tethering on the brink of collapse at the time.

Planetary Info

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Mangzhangdian was noted to have a long local year with extreme climate variations–very hot summers and very cold winters. As of ca. 3026, it was described as a marginal pastoral world. The original Capellan colonial structures had long since collapsed into ruin because of the extreme conditions.[1]
