Existing since at least 3027, MercNet was "the online database for mercenary units in search of employment and contract information" provided by the Mercenary Review Board and later the Mercenary Review and Bonding Commission.[1][2]

Overview[edit]

Access to MercNet is provided free of charge to all formally and officially registered members of either the MRB or MRBC.[1]

Unlike alternate mercenary data sources such as The Cullen Institute Journal of Mercenary Affairs, during the Word of Blake Jihad many MercNet submissions were generally the product of a single party rather rather than a collaborative peer-reviewed effort, resulting in more evidence of personal bias and incomplete or incorrect information.[3]

  • Database for Wanted and Renegade Commands - Information on rogue mercenary commands, the crimes for which they are accused and the bounty offered for their capture/demise, as of 3071 numerous Word of Blake employed units figured prominently upon it. [4]
  • Letter from the Commander - Personal update from Colonel Jaime Wolf circa 3058.[1]
  • Letters from the Front - Brief overviews of conflicts from member submissions, circa 3058 included events in Chaos March.[5]
  • MercNet Forum - Live discussion room format. Circa 3058 included a discussion on battlefield technology with Dr. Thornton Jerrick from the New Avalon Institute of Science and Elizabeth Kinkiad, head of PR for Irian BattleMechs Unlimited.[1]
  • MercNet Magazine -
  • MercNet Publications - published "A Mercenary Life" in 3065 which touched on topics such as the Draconis Combine's "Death to Mercenaries" edict and general disdain for mercs.[6]
