Myron Carpathia was a major in command of Blood Money Battalion, Filthy Lucre.[1]

History[edit]

Major Myron Carpathia was stationed on Dixie when raiders struck on New Year's Eve, 3049. Their target was a supply depot in an old Castle Brian, but The Filthy Lucre Battalion routed them, forcing the bandits to flee towards Carpathia's battalion on the outskirts of town. Despite being specialists in urban warfare, Carpathia reasoned that pursuing the raiders through the residential areas of New Witchita would be a violation of their contract to safeguard Dixie civilians. The senior Lyran commander on scene, Kommandant Mandingo Gluck of the Dixie TMM, demanded Carpathia continue pursuit, an order Carpathia refused. Upon his return to base Gluck ordered Carpathia's battalion arrested for dereliction of duty, breach of contract, and cowardice. In reality, this was a "company store" ploy by the Commonwealth to secure a contract extension into 3050. However, thanks to Colonel Karl Timson's acts, Gluck was unsuccessful – the Lucre men were freed at gunpoint and the regiment signed on with the Free Worlds League. Carpathia felt responsible for the departure of the Lucre for Lyran service.[1][2][3]

BattleMech[edit]

Carpathia piloted a WHM-6R Warhammer that belonged to his grandfather.[1][2]

Quote[edit]

Yeah, Blood Money Battalion prefers hiding until the enemy gets close, but don't let that fool you. They're savages on the attack, too.[1]
