Oscar Carlson was the commanding officer of the Second Ceti Hussars between at least 3050 and 3067.[1][2]
History[edit]
Hauptmann General Carlson, serving with the Second Ceti Hussars, was stationed on Uravan in 3050–3054[2][3] and was on Frazer by 3062.[4] Carlson had spent his entire career with the Ceti Hussars, becoming one of the brigade's supply clerks right after enlisting. Carlson proved himself to be a talented organizer and thinker and was recommended to the Sakhara Academy, where he graduated with honors and a degree in engineering. After returning to the Hussars, Carlson proved flexible enough to take command of the Second Ceti. Carlson was a conservative commander (both operationally and politically) and, in a display of his unit's neutrality, refused to take on traditional Armed Forces of the Federated Suns markings like the majority of the Capellan March units at the time.[4]
Civil War[edit]
When the Federated Commonwealth Civil War broke out, Carlson's priority was maintaining his unit's neutral position. When Fleet Admiral William Kossacks of the Second Davion Guards passed through the Frazer system on the way to fight for Victor Steiner-Davion's cause on Sirdar, Carlson guaranteed he would not interfere with the fight unless directly ordered to by New Syrtis or New Avalon.[5] Carlson and the Second Ceti would finally take action on behalf of Victor's Allies in May 3066, first securing the world of Taygeta and then arriving on New Syrtis in the wake of the decisive clash for control of that planet (although Carlson and his Hussars were too late to join the fight itself).[6] Finally, the Second Ceti would become involved in the battle for New Avalon under Field Marshal Ardan Sortek and, although victorious, Carlson's troops would be notably damaged in the vicious fight for control of the Federated Suns' capital planet.[7]
Post-Civil War[edit]
After the conclusion of the Civil War, Carlson would be promoted to the rank of general and was relocated to the Pleiades Cluster with the Second Ceti Hussars by 3067.[1]
