Legate Oshira Damascelopus was the Planetary Legate of Alkalurops, for the Republic of the Sphere, from at least 3130 to 3135.[2][3][4]
Personal Appearance[edit]
Damascelopus was a small women, approximately 1.5 meters tall, who was thought to weigh no more than forty kilograms.[4]
History[edit]
The Legate of Alkalurops, was reported to have been killed in April 3134, murdered prior to an attack by a Hansen's Roughriders battalion under the command of Major Loren J. Hansen. This murder was reportedly on the order of the Roughrider's employer, industrialist Alfred Santorini with the aim of disrupting the defense of the world.[1]
The assumption that Damascelopus had died was supported by the fact the Legate was not amongst the defenders who attempted to resist the Roughriders attack.[5] Despite this, reports of Legate Damascelopus' death appear to have been greatly exaggerated, as she was still alive and in place as Legate in November 3135. At this time, Damascelopus was a rare Republic Legate who supported the Senatorial Alliance, due to her de facto relationship of over twenty five years as of 3135 with Alkalurops' Senator Alec Colty.[4]

Damascelopus was reported to have piloted a Ryoken II BattleMech.[1]

While the events of the novel Patriot's Stand occur during the time Oshira Damascelopus is otherwise noted to have been Legate on Alkalurops[2][3][4], the unnamed Legate of Alkalurops in Patriot's Stand is referred to as a man (unlike the more detailed description of Damascelopus as a women elsewhere), and is believed by all characters to have been killed (despite Damascelopus later been shown alive in other sources)[4]. For the purposes of this article, the more detailed description of Damascelopus as a women has been preferred as correct, and reports of her death have been treated as Canon Rumor.
