Plot summary[edit]

Professional criminal Lukas Azhenov has fled from Luthien to his homeworld Tikonov after Omi Kurita was murdered with a poison, fulmitoxin, that he had crafted and sold. On Tikonov, he is unexpectedly caught between the fronts of the FedCom Civil War as fighting breaks out in the city of Tukwila. With increasing desperation and hoping to somehow catch a DropShip to bring him away Lukas moves across the urban battlefield. His hopes are frequently dashed and before long he is trying hard to simply survive. Ultimately, after he is wounded in a crossfire and unable to move, he is crushed by a BattleMech that steps on his body without even noticing him.
