History
The unit was created after the formation of the SwordSworn, when Duke Sandoval swore his allegiances to House Davion and the Federated Suns.
The core of the unit is formed by a hodge-podge of mercenaries, AWOL militia soldiers, freshly minted academy graduates and even, rumor has it, incognito retainers on loan from the Sandovals back on Robinson in the Draconis March, the Prince’s Men are not at all used to working together as a coherent group, which is reflected in their overall skill assessment.
Even though not every individual within the Prince's Men has the same loyalty to House Davion that Aaron Sandoval does but they have all proven their worth to his cause several times over.
The unit is not very well refined and has been used to achieve simple objectives due to its shortfalls in flexibility and cohesion. The unit is used as large numbers to make up for its cohesion issues, and Sandoval mostly uses them as a brute force remedy for when bodies count more than battlefield expertise.[1][2][3]
The unit's motto is You Want to Live Forever?.
