System History
In January 2804 Fleet Admiral Thaddeus Marik, son of Captain-General Kenyon Marik, was travelling back to Atreus when the drive core of his flagship burned out in the Rasalas system. His flagship, a venerable Lola III-class destroyer named the FWLS Bucharest, had given out after the strain of quick-charging a double jump using its L-F Battery, and Thaddeus was forced to transfer to a conventional military JumpShip. Despite the change in vessel, Thaddeus took the time to take on board a DropShip transporting a Free Worlds League Military BattleMech unit, which would play a key part in enforcing Thaddeus' claim to the title of Captain-General after his arrival on Atreus.[1]
