Rentz is a habitable world with breathable atmosphere. The MacLean Valley on Rentz is a pleasant rural landscape with towns, extensive farms, and scattered grain silos as well as rivers, forests, and abandoned mine shafts.[1]

As of 3063, retired ex-General Caleb MacLean was the head of an extended family living in the MacLean Valley. A veteran of the Davion Assault Guards like his three sons, they had brought at least four heavy and assault BattleMechs with them and kept them on their grounds. MacLean would coordinate the local militia against raiding pirates, forcing Costa's Corsairs to surrender in mid-September 3063 after having already destroyed two other pirate bands at unspecified times before.[1]

Local species include an unspecified bird analogue also noted for singing, and bewasps (local bee analogues).[1]
