Admiral Salman Venizelos was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Seventh Fleet at least between 2764 and 2765.[1][2]

Early Career[edit]
Venizelos rose through the ranks of the Star League Navy, serving in its lighter WarShips, before ascending to command of a reconnaissance Squadron. While he was subsequently promoted to the head of Seventh Fleet based on this experience, it left him without much experience in combined Fleet operations, which caused the overall SLDF Navy commander Admiral Ignacio Blake to experience some regret over his appointment.
In practice, this meant Venizelos operated his fleet as four separate reconnaissance Squadrons based around lighter and faster ships, focused on pirate hunting around the Free Worlds League / Magistracy of Canopus border to which he was assigned. While Venizelos was aware this left his Fleet out of practice supporting ground forces, his lack of concern about the other draw backs caused further worry for Admiral Blake.[1]
As head of the Seventh Fleet, Venizelos' flagship was the SLS Golden Hind.[2]
New Vandenberg Uprising[edit]
Admiral Venizelos' failings in relation to Fleet coordination came home to roost during the New Vandenberg Uprising, when he required three months to reform and deploy his Fleet to Magistracy of Canopus, long after the Eighth Fleet under Admiral Vicho Nnamani had arrived to deal with the hostilities. A friendly rivalry between the Fleets arose due to this delay, with Nnamani referring to his Seventh Fleet colleague as "The Late Admiral Venizelos."[2]
Venizelos was finally replaced as head of Seventh Fleet by no later than 2770, at which time Admiral Janos Grec assumed command.[3]
