Captain Sanji Vargas was the executive officer of Baker Battalion, Delta Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons as of 3028.[1]

Vargas was initially a Tech before becoming a MechWarrior, and maintained an interest in modifying BattleMechs even as the executive officer of Baker Battalion. He was known to have modified his own Awesome as well as that of others within Baker Battalion, including a Phoenix Hawk LAM piloted by Lieutenant Voicek Bronkowski.
This tinkering may have eliminated some problems, but it also created others, resulting in headaches for the actual Dragoon Techs assigned to Vargas' machinery.
Vargas participated in the Battle of Misery in 3028, destroying an entire Ryuken Lance by himself, though ultimately he was severely injured in the battle. He was left partially paralyzed by his wounds arising from this incident.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Sanji Vargas was known to pilot an Awesome BattleMech. This 'Mech was salvaged by the Dragoons after the Battle of Misery, despite the great damage it suffered, due to the high standard of maintenance Vargas insisted upon during his time with it.[1]
