Description

The Scourge is a mid thirty-second century Heavy Class BattleMech, which is utilized as a general purpose combat unit and as well as a heavy scout. Produced by both Kaiser Systems of Herzberg and at StarCorps Industries' plants on Emris IV and Loburg, the Scourge's SCG-WD1 variant has seen service throughout the Inner Sphere and the Periphery, first being produced in 3131. Two years later, the 'Mech would be further improved with Advanced Technology, which would enhance its performance in combat.[5]

Weapons and Equipment

The WF1 model of the Scourge is powered by a 325-rated Fusion Engine, which allows this heavy 'Mech the speed to engage moderately-swift combat units. The 'Mech's four Dynamo Jump Jets gives it the tactical flexibility to out-maneuver many units that it can't outpace. Protecting its vital components during battle, the 'Mech's hull is fitted with 12.5 tons of Durallex Super Light Ferro-Fibrous armor.

The Scourge's main weapon is an Eisen Gauss Rifle, located in its left arm. This weapon is limited to sixteen rounds of ammunition. The bulk of its close-in firepower comes from four Diverse Optics Extended Range Medium Lasers and a single Medium Pulse Laser located in the left arm. The array of ER Medium Lasers found in the 'Mech's right arm uses an advanced tech Actuator Enhancement System to allow the weapons better accuracy.[6]

Variants

  • SCG-WD1
This version of the 'Mech utilizes standardized technology. The 'Mech utilizes 13.5 tons of Standard Armor and has additional heat sinks. WD1 lacks the WF1's Light Ferro and the Actuator Enhancement System. BV(2.0)=2,061[7][8][9]

Notes

The Scourge appeared game wise as part of Wizkids' MechWarrior Dark Age Collectable Miniatures game as a part of its Domination expansion set. It was later adapted by Catalyst Game Labs and redefined once the company advanced the game's timeline to 3145.

The Scourge has the following Design Quirks:[10]
