Seth Miller was the commanding officer of the Ridgebrook Capellan March Militia as of 3050.[2]

History[edit]

Leftenant General Miller, serving with the Ridgebrook CMM, was stationed on Ridgebrook in 3050 and remained there by 3062.[2][3] Like all of the unit's officers, Miller was politically astute and kept the Federated Commonwealth's relationship with the Taurian Concordat at the front of his mind. Although responsibility for developing ties with regional civilian authorities normally falls to the local PDZ commander, Miller's ability and initiative meant that such duties were left to him, meaning he was often away from Ridgebrook and left day-to-day control of the unit to Leftenant General Emeline Jones.[3]

FedCom Civil War[edit]

During the Federated Commonwealth Civil War, Miller's militiamen were part of Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion's task force sent to assault the neutral world of New Syrtis. Arriving in-system on 27 October 3065, the Katherine loyalists made good gains against the defenders, disrupting HPG communications, capturing local logistics facilities, and even putting Duke George Hasek into a coma after a failed assassination attempt. Unfortunately for Miller and his allies, when Hasek regained consciousness and took control of the planet's defense on 11 December, the tide of battle changed significantly. After a failed Loyalist assault on the Duke's command center, Hasek's counter-attack on 21 January 3066 killed the commander of the Eleventh Avalon Hussars and left Katherine's task force on the backfoot.[4]

A clever ambush undertaken by the remnants of the Eleventh Hussars and the Fourth Donegal Guards succeeded in destroying Hasek's Kathil Capellan March Militia, leading the Fourth Donegal's commander to call upon Miller's men in order to press the attack. When Miller's militia made the mistake of fighting through and destroying Morgan Hasek-Davion Memorial Park, the world's defenders were so enraged by the desecration of Hasek-Davion's memory that they began showing no mercy to Katherine's forces. In the first week of April 3066, Miller was killed and command of the Ridgebrook CMM given to Leftenant General Emeline Jones.[1]
