Star Captain Tara Helmer was a Clan Jade Falcon officer, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Helmer Bloodhouse, during the Word of Blake Jihad.[1][2][3][4][5]

History[edit]

Liberation of Tharkad[edit]

A commander of a Nova within the Turkina Keshik as of 3072, Helmer assisted the Lyran Alliance's Third Lyran Guards to recapture Tharkad in January, which constituted one of the Falcon's first acts of cooperation with Inner Sphere forces against the Word of Blake during the Jihad.[1][4][5]

Fritz Donner Bombing[edit]

In January 3073, Helmer attended the allied summit on Arc-Royal with Star Colonel Diana Pryde, which was intended to help coordinate the fight against the Blakists, as Clan Jade Falcon's representatives. This summit was however interrupted by the Blakist planted suicide bombing by Fritz Donner which killed many delegates, though Helmer herself survived.[3]

Stone's Coalition[edit]

Later joining Stone's Coalition, Helmer helped liberate the Word of Blake Protectorate and defend the newly formed Republic of the Sphere, before dying while fighting a remnant Word of Blake terror cell on Small World.[2]

BattleMech[edit]

Tara Helmer was known to have piloted a Jupiter BattleMech, serial number JF061-31B, which was piloted after her death by Leala Banach.[2]

Notes[edit]

From at least 3058 to 3067, the 305th Assault Cluster of Clan Jade Falcon was led by a Star Colonel Tara, who was also of the Helmer Bloodhouse. While this Star Colonel Tara was young enough to have been active in the 3070s, Tara Helmer's lower rank and different unit as of the Liberation of Tharkad, suggest they are not the same individual.
