Era Clan Invasion era

Description

The Technical Readout: 3060 (TRO:3060) is set immediately after Task Force Serpent's annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar. The title, purporting to be a ComStar study, presents the latest vehicle and 'Mech of Clan Invasion era. Furthermore it introduces a new combat asset, the ProtoMech.

The book was reprinted in 2009 under the Catalyst Game Labs emblem, with new cover art. Unlike the other FASA-era Technical Readouts, TRO:3060 did not receive the Catalyst Upgrade treatment, however. Other than the new cover art, the record sheets and BattleForce 2 statistics were removed, the Battle Values listed were changed to the BV 2.0 system found in the TechManual, and all errata to date was corrected. Accompanying the re-release was a new, PDF-only PDF Record Sheet book, which included new variants developed during the Jihad (not detailed in TRO:3060 itself).

From the back cover

The Great Houses of the Inner Sphere have created a new Star League to end the clan threat, launching an all-out attack against the most powerful Clan, Smoke Jaguar. During this campaign, the Inner Sphere was assaulted by a new and deadly creation: the ProtoMech. Swift and deadly, these half-size 'Mechs proved agile and difficult to destroy. Now, other Clans will quickly field this potent new weapon against the Inner Sphere, hoping to once more tip the balance of power in their favor.

BattleTech Technical Readout: 3060 provides descriptions, game statistics and complete rules for using the Clans' newest weapon in your BattleTech game: the ProtoMech. Additionally, new Inner Sphere and Clan BattleMechs and OmniMechs are included, as well as Clan vehicles.

Published by licensee FanPro Hardware Handbuch 3060 is the German edition of Technical Readout 3060 (TRO:3060). Unlike previous TRO's, this edition matches the original edition in all aspects. The last page of Hardware-Handbuch 3060 contains a list of German Battletech products available at time of publication. The German version is printed as DIN A4, a standard European paper size, which is a little larger then north american Letter.

Spelling and Names

As with other German products some spelling and abbreviations were regularly adjusted. For instance the Planet Gotterdammerung was respelled to Götterdämmerung, the DCMS (Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery) became VSDK (Vereinigte Streitkräfte des Draconis Kombinats) and so on. The practice of translating design names had been ceased in 1997 however.
