Thaddeus Bromley was the stablemaster of Bromley Stables on 3051[1]. He was known for his extreme hatred of MechWarrior Cooperatives.[2]

History[edit]

The success and solidarity of the Free Worlds League-aligned Bromley Stables despite the disparate principalities from which his fighters hailed was largely due to the iron will and leadership of Thaddeus Bromley. Convinced only the harshest training regimen can produce superior fighters, Thaddeus Bromley also had a well-known lack of tolerance for any failure or treachery from his fighters. Though publicly the stable allows those warriors who disagree with the strictness of its policies or training methods to freely leave, in truth Bromley ruthlessly punishes those who leave him for another employer. A confirmed paranoid, rumors have circulated for years that Bromley's chief of security Victoria Emmet was responsible for the disappearance of several Bromley rivals and disaffected MechWarriors.[3]

Even warriors who do not attempt to betray Thaddeus Bromley are safe. When 3064 Solaris Games Grand Champion and Bromley warrior Evelyn Czerny was critically wounded by a freak ammunition explosion during a exhibition match a few months after her championship win, Thaddeus attempted to dismiss her almost immediately upon learning she would never pilot a BattleMech again, though eventually retaining her as an instructor at the stable. [4] [3]

When the Word of Blake arrived on 10 June 3068 and their Twenty-fifth Division overpowered the Solaran defenses (no formal unit was there, and the invasion force only faced various stables, overwhelming them all), Bromley Stables led by Thaddeus Bromley and several smaller Marik-sponsored stables sided with the invaders, believing the Word of Blake was taking the world for the Free Worlds League.

He lived in Bromley Estate located in Montenegro, between Caracas Avenue and Williams Street[5], which was a green island amid the industrial zone. The condo was walled and heavily patrolled.[6]
