Tiber is probably best known as the home of Earthwerks Incorporated. During the mid-31st century, the world was rocked by violence as the labor unions on the world incited their members to riot. This conflict forced elements of the Regulan Hussars into conflict with each other. The Principality of Regulus dispatched more troops to put an end to the rebellion. These forces were successful, but the heavy-handed response as well as the motivating injustices, simmered under the surface for many years. Fortunately the League government established Federal holidays and wages linked to indexes, which has kept the resentment below the surface and forestalled any more revolts. This continent is administered solely by the Principality of Regulus.[1]

The other continent on Tiber is controlled by the Duchy of New Assam. In contrast to the heavy manufacturing on Regulan-dominated Perugia, the island continent of New Assam has built its economy on financial services, insurance, and tourism. These tourist resorts range from raucous party towns for factory workers to cliffside mountain retreats for corporate executives. A recent find of massive cavern systems has also drawn spelunkers and geologists from across the Free Worlds League.[1]

Tiber's reputation as being a vacation haven where even the most expensive tastes could be indulged led to Boeing building and deploying the Corvair Luxury Passenger Airliner on Tiber, operated by their Boeing Travel division. The first Corvair launched in 3066, and offered luxuriously opulent holiday tours at considerable expense; by 3067 six of the airships were in service, offering tours of various regions including the mountain ranges of New Assam, and four more airships were under construction. Among the patrons reported to have taken expensive holidays on Tiber via the Corvairs were Captain-General Thomas Marik and his wife, who reportedly honeymooned aboard the Delphine.[33]
