Planetary History
 +
Xinyang is the capital world of the Xinyang Prefecture. Located in the center of the Draconis Combine close to Luthien, Xinyang wasn't subject to raids like most of the border worlds. If Xinyang had anything other than a large amount of fresh water, it would be an industrial powerhouse. Unfortunately the water is the only resource the planet really offers. Given its relatively central location, the DCMS and DCA use it as a transshipment point and administrative headquarters. There is also a major military hospital on the world, and the ISF maintains a facility to debrief soldiers returning from the front lines. This hospital can house up to ten thousand patients at once, but the Jihad strained even this massive facility.

Sometime in the early thirty-first century before 3015, Precentor Kenzo Yamata was one of the heads of ROM in charge of ComStar forces that had discovered a Star League fortress buried on Xinyang that had been lost for almost three hundred years. Inside one of the excavated buildings was an ancient star map carved into one of the walls containing the locations of Star League bases, settlements, and weapon depots that were also lost to time. Yamata partnered with Andreas Kane and his recently formed Black Inferno mercenary group, letting them set up a base of operations on Xinyang and supporting them both financially and with BattleMechs, in order to pillage those sites for whatever Lostech they could find while shielding them from retaliation by any of the Great Houses.

Planetary History
There was a missing section of the Xinyang star map and Yamata had reason to believe Nikolai Mason had the coordinates to something massive within that section out in the Periphery. On 21 May 3015, Black Inferno attacked the Nik's Cavaliers base on De Berry Prime, killing Mason and salvaging his Victor, but could not find the coordinates they were after.

The Cavaliers had been gradually rebuilding their strength over the years under the command of Nikolai’s son Jake Mason and finally started striking back at Black Inferno, interfering with their operations. After taking back possession of Nikolai's Victor from an Black Inferno reclamation facility on Eaton III, the Cavaliers attacked the Xinyang base with a vengeance, razing every facility they encountered on their way up to the main fortification. Andreas Kane made his stand against the Cavaliers and failed in his last-ditch effort to decapitate their leader.

The Xinyang system is the location of at least one inhabited world, Xinyang II, and as of 3145 was located in the Xinyang Prefecture of the Benjamin Military District within the Draconis Combine.[3][4]

System Description[edit]

The Xinyang system is located near the Paracale and Dyfed systems[3][4] and consists of a class F0V primary star orbited by at least two planets.[1][2]

System History[edit]

The Xinyang system was settled at some point prior to the end of the Reunification War.[5]

Xinyang II, more commonly known simply as Xinyang, is the second planet in the Xinyang system and has one moon named Henan.[2]

Planetary History[edit]

Xinyang is the capital world of the Xinyang Prefecture. Located in the center of the Draconis Combine close to Luthien, Xinyang wasn't subject to raids like most of the border worlds. If Xinyang had anything other than a large amount of fresh water, it would be an industrial powerhouse. Unfortunately the water is the only resource the planet really offers. Given its relatively central location, the DCMS and DCA use it as a transshipment point and administrative headquarters. There is also a major military hospital on the world, and the ISF maintains a facility to debrief soldiers returning from the front lines.[1] This hospital can house up to ten thousand patients at once, but the Jihad strained even this massive facility.[1][2]

The planet cannot produce enough food to feed all its residents, so imports are quite common.[1]

Yamata partnered with Andreas Kane and his recently formed Black Inferno mercenary group, letting them set up a base of operations on Xinyang and supporting them both financially and with BattleMechs,[33] in order to pillage those sites for whatever Lostech they could find while shielding them from retaliation by any of the Great Houses.[34]

There was a missing section of the Xinyang star map and Yamata had reason to believe Nikolai Mason had the coordinates to something massive within that section out in the Periphery.[33] On 21 May 3015, Black Inferno attacked the Nik's Cavaliers base on De Berry Prime,[35] killing Mason and salvaging his Victor, but could not find the coordinates they were after.[36]

Andreas Kane made his stand against the Cavaliers and failed in his last-ditch effort to decapitate their leader.[33]
