General Zhang Craggs was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's Ninth Army as of 2764.[2]

Born to wealthy bankers on Skye in the Lyran Commonwealth, Craggs was quite a Lyran patriot as a teenager, but this soured after his parents were apparently falsely convicted on charges of embezzlement, fraud, extortion, and blackmail. Believing his family were victims of political maneuvering, and that they had been failed by the Lyran justice system, Craggs grew to despise the Commonwealth.[2]
A Nagelring graduate despite these misadventures, the SLDF choose to take advantage of his rancor by assigning him to the Ninth Army whose area of operations was the Lyran / Free Worlds League border, where he could put down any aggressive Lyran movements before they escalated.[2]
Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky picked Zhang Craggs as the Regular Army Command's Inspector General because he was the most honest IG he could find, and Cragg's SLDF 2764 Readiness Report was used by Aaron DeChavilier in place of his own—which he did not have time to compile—when Kerensky requested one from DeChavalier.[1]
Craggs did not long remain in command of Ninth Army during the Amaris Civil War, having been replaced by General Thierry Dhaif by 2767.[3]
