== Description ==
The '''Cormorant''' Medium Cargo Transport is a [[Federated Suns]] vehicle produced by Michaelson Aircraft, a division of Michaelson Heavy Industries.  The ''Cormorant'' is noted for being the most common WiGE in the FedSuns, produced since the late [[twenty-seventh century]].  The WiGE was designed to be used on worlds with large oceans. One of its more notable features, it being inexpensive, due to having no need for airstrips.<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>

It was designed with modest protection to fend off natural and human planetary threats to its cargo. The vehicle was typically used on [[Ulysses]], where natural born predators are known for their size and aggression. During the [[FedCom Civil War]] many smugglers on Ulysses also became users of the Cormorant to move illegal cargoes. Finally the Ulysses militia purchased several of the craft and used them to drop a battalion of marines on top of the pirates' headquarters.<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>

Michaelson's importance to [[The Republic of the Sphere]] meant that large numbers of Cormorants and Fulmar patrol craft were found in the [[RAF]].<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>

== Equipment and Capabilities ==
The Cormorant is designed to be a seaborne capable craft, which has a Amphibious Chassis for water landings. It has a [[Cargo Bay]] with a 29.5 ton capacity, with a rear mounted bay door.<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>

The craft is also equipped with a pair of Machine Guns, one mounted on each of its sides.  It shares a half ton of ammunition for the guns in the hull.<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>

It has a 1.5 tons of BAR 6 rated commercial armor protecting the craft from light damage.<ref name="TRO:VAp88"/><ref name="TRO:VArp88"/>
