I noticed that Line Developer Herbert Beas responded (http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=21133.0) to a question regarding the origin of the Amphigean LAG that newer material would trump the older source, which would render the Chain Gang background the "true" version and the Merc origin apocryphal. Should the article be amended, or would it be better to wait until the upcoming Handbook House Kurita is released, just to be sure? (sidenote: I also checked Turning Points Galtor as recommended by Adrian Gideon, but found nothing there) --Akashi 05:00, 05 March 2013 (GMT)

:"Newer trumps older" has always been the case. But it only applies for mutually exclusive content; conversely, it does not apply where the available information can somehow be reconciled - as I believe is the case here. Frabby (talk) 02:23, 1 June 2018 (EDT)

::Sevaral years later... Combat Manual: Kurita (2016), p. 54, clarified the issue and combined the origins stories. What they wrote makes good sense.--Cache (talk) 21:49, 15 October 2020 (EDT)

Unit Logo Evolution
I revised the displayed logos for most of the various ALAG commands based on a handful of sourcebooks. The 1st and 2nd use the horn logo in The Galtor Campaign and Historical Turning Points: Galtor, both ca. 3026. Combat Manual: Kurita (ca. 3039) shows the horn as the group logo, as well as the 2nd and 5th, but the 1st changed to the armored shark logo. Field Manual: Draconis Combine (ca. 3058) describes the armored shark as the group insignia. Since the new 7th was formed because of the successes of the 1st vs. the Clans, the group insignia change from the horn to the shark makes sense. The 3rd and 4th ALAG were formed and destroyed/disbanded prior to 3026 so I changed their logos to the horn logo. Also, the exact same armor-plated shark logo was uploaded several times so I requested deletion of all but one.--Cache (talk) 21:09, 15 October 2020 (EDT)

Updates Needed for CM:Kurita?
Combat Manual: Kurita (2016), p. 54, states that Amphigean Agriculture Industries reformed their own Amphigean Security Groups into the 3rd and 4th Light Assault Groups (each at battalion size, but in service directly to AAI) and that a fifth and sixth LAG were also formed. However, only the 1st, 2nd, and 5th are listed as sub-commands. FM:DC only mentions the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and newly-formed 7th. Am I missing or misunderstanding something about the 3rd, 4th, and 6th? --Cache (talk) 21:49, 15 October 2020 (EDT)
