:::Not having any idea what kind of work it takes to implement it, I prefer the look of the second option, though with a slightly lighter background.--Cache (talk) 20:30, 20 March 2017 (EDT)

::::Both of thoses ideas could be implemented easily I think. It would mean the overhaul of a fair number of pages, mostly 'Mechs I expect. This number is likely to grow considerably with MWO stuff being added. The present tags for entire apocryphal pages I think are fine. - Dark Jaguar (talk) 11:45, 14 July 2017 (EDT)

:::::For shorter texts, the single box with colored background is best. Is it possible to have a marker that can be used in infoboxes (for example, some worlds have apocryphal info in their infobox such as capital name or number of moons).

:::::I am unsure how well the single-box solution holds up for longer passages. Some articles are about a canonical subject but much/most of the actual information is apocryphal. Check out the articles for Jimmy Lee, Richard Humphreys, Menlo Drews, or Kiudo for examples. If it can be made to work, I'm all for it. Frabby (talk) 12:21, 14 July 2017 (EDT)

: I would prefer the background method as well--the current delimiting tags take up more vertical space than I would prefer. I think it would work well for even longer passages as long as the background color is suitably desaturated, e.g.

<div style="background:#FFFFE0; border: 1px solid #A2A200; padding: 0.5em 1em; margin: 0.5em auto; overflow: hidden">

<p style="font-size: 80%;">The following information comes from apocryphal sources; the canonicity of such information is uncertain.<br></p>

Similar saturation to infoboxes. We could choose another hue if we want it to be different, or use a colored border.

</div>

::I have no strong opinion on changing how things work at a technical level concerning apocryphal stuff Deadfire is likely best to talk about options with, but changing the color or hue is off the table straight away. It has earned the name "apocryphal yellow" because it is now known by the community, they don't need to read the tag to know what it means. Don't mess with the bit that ain't broken.--Dmon (talk) 06:11, 2 April 2023 (EDT)
