2022 Update
Time flies by, and I'm still here. But I have come to the realization (as opposed to a conscious decision) that I won't be as active on Sarna as I used to. Changes in my life - all of them good! - have limited my spare time for the forseeable future, and combined with other hobby ventures this means I can only devote a smaller part of a smaller cake to BattleTech these days. Which means I simply can't be all over this wiki anymore like I used to.

Being a CGL factchecker comes with Sarna problems that I didn't anticipate. Not only does it take time, it also means I can actually contribute much less to Sarna because of all the insider knowledge that comes with it. I'm so far ahead of the curve that I can hardly edit on Sarna anymore. Oftentimes I've read early drafts of upcoming products months before they come out, and it's hard to keep all that knowledge to myself when editing something on Sarna (it often feels like Sarna is already outdated). It's actually hard to even remember what info is already out in the wild, what is still secret/upcoming, and then there's the problem that stuff changes - sometimes substantially - in the time between factchecking and publication. With ilClan era products, I have essentially lost track of what's already been published.

The Discord eats up (too) much time - I feel like I'm spending half an hour a day reading through idle banter there only to stay up-to-date on Sarna issues. And then there's that "special project" of mine, something I've been wanting to do for almost as long as I've been a Sarna editor. It's good news for BattleTech and you'll hear about it if and when CGL decide. :)

So, yeah. I'm still here, but with a reduced presence and no longer in the front seat. Other editors and admins have stepped up - you know who you are. I'll be lurking in the shadows and grace you with sagely advice from time to time. :)

*<s>Policy:Notability needs a rewrite, with an eye particularly to "Notable 'Mechs and MechWarriors" (an issue that keeps popping up); also, Sarna needs to make some style and structure decisions regarding the coverage of military units and when to use, or not use, categories. Need to find out what policies these issues affect.</s> Done, I think. Seems no-one noticed.

My notable exploits during the time on the MUSE included losing 3 Griffins in a row in ill-fated attempts to prove the design's superiority on the battlefield, later faring surprisingly well piloting a Crusader (a design I don't like) and eventually getting assigned a Cataphract, but never the Archer I always asked for. Despite merely mediocre combat performance (or perhaps because this was still better than than the average Liao MechWarrior) I was promoted to Subcommander, drafted into Warrior House Imarra against my wishes and given command of a Lance that had never seen combat action by the time I had to quit the game.

I can't get the hang of pinging on this wiki, so I came to your page. It's nice to have feedback because my efforts aren't perfect.

* Re: AeroSpace Fighter, I've been using the Policy:BattleTech Style Guide connected to the Manual of Style, which requires CamelCase. I don't think I have a copy of the BattleCorps MOS.

* Re: Mad Jumpin Jacks, it was inconsistent within the article so I went with what's at the Phoenix (Mercenary Command) page the unit name redirects to. I don't read German and I don't know if I have a PDF or doc of the novel to check against so I didn't even try to consult the original.

* Re: Hyphen use in co-founder. I've been going with Fowler ("hyphens are regrettable necessities, and to be done without when they reasonably may") due in part to the over(mis)use of hyphens by CGL. I'm using a dictionary aggregator and the Chicago Manual of Style for hyphenation but I'm bound to get a few wrong.

* Re: Correcting quotations. I try to consult the original text before correcting quotes but I know I miss some; I'm glad to have my mistakes corrected. I've actually had to correct a few quotes in other articles to match what's in the original product text.

It would have been helpful if FASA/FanPro/CGL had at least tried to be consistent in its own products... Madness Divine (talk)
