Jon Roberson was, as of 3132, a technician and MechWarrior in the 21st Centauri Lancers, known for designing the OPO-3 Opossum MOD.[2]

Drawn by the tales of adventure in holovid dramas about mercenaries, Roberson had a lifelong dream of becoming a MechWarrior. However, a childhood disease left his nervous system damaged, and even with medication, his random spasms kept him from qualifying for BattleMech training. Roberson settled for IndustrialMech piloting and found a position as a technician in the 21st Centauri Lancers, piloting an Opossum SalvageMech.[1]
In 3131, Roberson persuaded his officers to allow a modification to his 'Mech, adding a light AC/2. This quickly proved effective. In its first deployment, defending against a raid on Issaba by the Rim Territories, Roberson retrieved his commander's vehicle under fire, disabling several raider vehicles in the process.
