History
Originally the Star League Defense Force's 208th Hussar Regiment, who refused to leave the Inner Sphere as part of Aleksandr Kerensky's Exodus in 2784. They worked as a mercenary unit known as Bolton's Rangers and signed on with House Kurita, but suffered from treachery at the hands of Kurita's military bureaucracy, and left to work for the Duke of Oriente. In 2845 Duke Halas offered them regular status as the 5th Brigade of the Fusiliers of Oriente, which they accepted.

In honor of its Star League ties, the Fifth Brigade contiues to use SLDF color schemes, and displays the Star League Crest in addition to the Marik one.
