In the later stages of the war the Chancellor decided that an counterinvasion would take the AFFS by suprise and bring the ongoing operation to an hold. As part of an taskforce the surviving battalion from the 1st McCarrons were task to destroy an important depot of the AFFS. The capellan paid mercs chose to make a direct strike at their target. When the dropped where finished the CO were suprised by the presence of an Battalion of the 12th Vegan Rangers - Beta Regiment. Caught offguard for some time the McCarron unit retook initiative until the remaining 2 Rangers battlion arrived. Greatly outnumbered the McCarron Command retreat only with 2 companies when fog arrived. The survivors started an guerilla campaign.
A third battalion escaped and later took part in [[Operation Riposte]] on [[Nopah]], they took heavy casualties and the two surviving companies went on to fight a guerrilla warfare.

  • 2nd Battalion: Zhong-shao Chris Metcalf
  • 2nd Battalion have one heavy Clan OmniMech lance which is supported by 8 Inner Sphere omnis.
  • The regiment is classified as medium to heavy weight.

Vader's Vampires (1 Wing/Veteran/Fanatical)

  • The wing prefers heavy fighters for the prefered surfarce strikes. The pilots are specialist to make precision strikes during night time.

Nightriders Armored Security Detail (2 Battalions/Regular/Reliable)

  • Armor Commander: Zhong-shao Isaak Carington
  • Recently expanded by the addition of a second battalion the seasoned 1st Battalion support the Mechforces by flanking manveuvers.

Nightriders Special Forces (1 Reinforced Battalion/Regular/Reliable)

  • Infantry Commander: Sao-shao Steven Risner
  • The battle armor platoon contains mainly capellan designs with a few kuritans brougth back after Operation Bulldog. The remaing troops are 6 lances of artillery with additional 1 company of regular troops for overall security.
