History

Formation

Reunification War

At the start of the Reunification War the First Marik Militia was stationed on Granera. While there, the world was attacked by the 2nd Canopian Light Horse. The Militia countered the assault, and inflicted serious losses on the Canopian unit.[1] In 2582 the First assaulted the Canopian world Tetski. Tetski was crucial to the Magistracy as the location of key BattleMech repair facilities. The First dropped onto the world and spent the next week stringing the 3rd Canopian Light Horse along, maneuvering them out of place. Five days after the First dropped onto the world, the 58th Brigade of the SLDF, supported by the 5th Marik Militia and the 3rd Fusiliers of Oriente landed on the world and destroyed the Light Horse.[2] For their participation the First Marik Militia received a regimental unit citation.[3] In 2588 the First Marik Militia took part in the final battle of the Magistracy Campaign: The battle of Kossandra's Memory.[4]

Anton's Revolt

Third Succession War

Took part in two famous battles. The Battle of Skada Ravine on Megrez in 3018, where the Regiment's Third Battalion (better known as the Perth River Strike Battalion) saved the other two battalions from a LCAF assault.[5]

4th Succession War

Andurien Secession

In 3039, the unit was involved in operations on Andurien, north of the capital Jojoken. What started as a minor battle with the 6th Defenders of Andurien trapping a Company of the First Militia in the city of Baroda escalated into a meeting engagement that became the pivotal battle on planet, shattering the First and Sixth Defenders.[5]

In later years the First staged a reprisal raid against the Capellan Confederation's Warrior House Ijori on Jasmine.[5]
