In 3131, Roberson persuaded his officers to allow a modification to his 'Mech, adding a light AC/2. This quickly proved effective. In its first deployment, defending against a raid on Issaba by the Rim Territories, Roberson retrieved his commander's vehicle under fire, disabling several raider vehicles in the process. A May 3132 joint Oriente-Republic operation on Ventabren, in which he extracted salvage while fending off unmarked attackers, brought him and his MOD media and government attention, leading to the standardization of Roberson's unique design.
