General Bram Merga was a senior commander within the Star League Defense Force during the 28th Century.[1][2]

History
Capellan Confederation Military Region
Merga had been the commander of the 5th Army for over 5 years as of 2764. While based on Epsilon Eridani, and happy to give his Corps commanders free reign in running their units, he spent most of his time traveling to see different sub-units within his Army and reassure local Capellan Confederation government officials of the SLDF's good work. During these travels, Merga used a modified Lion-class DropShip as his headquarters.
A Terran Hegemony citizen, Merga was a strong believer in the Star League, and its vital contribution to peace in the Inner Sphere. His contributions to the League extended to his children, three of whom also served in the SLDF, Blair Merga, Braden Merga and Brianne Merga.[1]
Amaris Civil War
By 2774 General Merga had been replaced as head of 5th Army by General Kim Solheim, taking on the role as her superior as commander of the 5th Army Group.[3]
Still in this role in 2777, Merga led the landing in France and Switzerland on Terra, during Operation LIBERATION.[4]
