Melissa Auburn was mentioned in the context of "members of the famous Auburn family, court historians on Tharkad for generations." She was a Lyran Alliance-based author who wrote The Black Widow: In Memoriam, a book that would top interstellar best seller lists for over a year around ca. 3063.[1] (The book's apparent subject was Natasha Kerensky, the feared and respected 'Black Widow', who had died in combat in late 3057.)
Notes
- Melissa Auburn is probably one of historian Misha Auburn's seven younger siblings who have not been named, and in that case would be one of Thelos Auburn's daughters; incidentally, only Misha Auburn was said to have any interest in history or politics,[2] suggesting that Melissa Auburn, despite authoring a book about the 'Black Widow', could neither be considered a historian nor a politician. Melissa Auburn may have been named after Melissa Steiner, who was born in 3010 and thus was a year younger than Misha Auburn. (Thelos Auburn and later his oldest daughter Misha Auburn served as House Steiner's official court historians in their respective times.)
