Destroyed not in combat but in a freak accident, the Third Bear Stiker Cluster was one of the few Clan Ghost Bear Clusters eliminated during Operation Revival.
History
The Third Bear Stiker made its name before the invasion of the Inner Sphere by using mobility and speed against forces from Clan Hell's Horses. Their extensive experience fighting armored vehicles made them a natural for the invasion.[1]
The Third fought on Thule during the Ghost Bears first invasion wave, taking nearly fifty-percent losses from strafing attacks by the First Hussars AeroSpace Fighters, and as a consequence was deactivated. The 312th Assault Trinary was left on Thule to garrison the world but was apparently destroyed by guerrilla forces.[1] (Later reports indicate that the Third Striker was victorious on Thule, but lost many troops in the process. During the second wave of Operation Revival, uprisings on the Ghost Bear held worlds forced them to redeploy. Delta Galaxy was assigned to pacify Damian, but as the CGBS Bear's Den jumped into the system an asteroid smashed into the WarShip, destroying the DropShip that carried most of the Third. Less than a Trinary survived.[1])
The survivors of the unit were merged with reinforcements sent from the Clan Homeworlds prior to the Fifth Wave of the invasion, and the unit was re-designated the Seventy-third Battle Cluster.
The Third Bear Striker Cluster was honored by receiving a passage in the Ghost Bear Rememberance.[1]
Officers
As of 3050 the Commanding Officer was Star Colonel François Cote, who remained in command of the re-formed unit until at least 3058.
