Discord

I made the chatterweb news item, as well as due to having a fair bit of experience as an Discord administrator as well as having a good amount of the knowledge required to have it be integrated with the wiki, I told Nic that I volunteer my time to manage it.--Deadfire (talk) 01:24, 22 May 2021 (EDT)

You rock, Deadfire. I've put it on the sidebar, as well.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 06:29, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
The link on the sidebar leads to sarna.net/wiki/INVALID-TITLE, just as well I don't see you in Discord! We don't bite!--Deadfire (talk) 11:57, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
Wow...thought I had tested it. Glad you did. Try it now.
And, yeah, I'll register, but I'll probably pop in now-and-then via text (rather than voice).--Revanche (talk|contribs) 12:05, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
Text-only is like 95% of Discord use anyway :P as well not having to install the app and running it in the browser is a plus if you are lazy --Deadfire (talk) 12:10, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
"you are lazy". Now I know why they call you "Deadfire".--Revanche (talk|contribs) 12:13, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
My RL job forces me to think of the "easiest path for people to use things' that my team is creating, so it comes naturally :P --Deadfire (talk) 12:20, 22 May 2021 (EDT)

List of Minis and Products

Hello! I am new to both BattleTech and Wiki editing, but I have experience with data manipulation of various sorts. As a new player, I've found it very frustrating to track down Minis (and Record Sheets) to their sources. Some lists already exist, but they weren't in locations or in formats I found useful as a new player, and they are very spread out. I started fiddling around on my User page, trying out different table formats for listing Mini products and User:Dude_RB suggested I flag you down. Ideally, we can figure out some way to format the data concisely and with minimal maintenance. Of course, just because I like big monolithic lists doesn't mean that's the best way for everyone, so that's also a consideration. Not sure I have the perspective/experience to make that call. Hope this is helpful! :) --AlekBalderdash (talk) 23:02, 27 December 2022 (EST)

I would take a look at the Project for using Semantic on the wiki. The concerns are mostly that it may make regular editing to complex, if it is introduced. --Deadfire (talk) 21:01, 22 January 2023 (EST)

Project Characters banner

I see you just updated a bunch of project banners for Project Characters on talk pages. But some of these aren’t characters, they are real people (eg. Gerald Hall or Geoff Swift. I reckon they shouldn’t even be in this project. Did you do an automated update there? Frabby (talk) 03:22, 22 January 2023 (EST)

Aye, it was an automated update, as I was just replacing it's project banner to the correct format. --Deadfire (talk) 20:54, 22 January 2023 (EST)
