System 129A-14H was officially one of a number of "dead" worlds that bordered the Circinus Federation. A habitable planet within the system had been the site of a colony once, but by the Jihad it was long abandoned - until elements of the Word of Blake used it as a hideout as the Jihad turned against them.[1]

As the task forces from the Principality of Regulus closed in on the last remaining refuges of the Blakists having already sterilized a number of planets using thermonuclear weapons, they used some of their forces - including hired mercenaries - to scout a number of dead systems along the border of the Federation, looking for any boltholes that fleeing Blakist forces may be trying to use. A mercenary detachment determined that elements of the 49th Shadow Division were present in the remains of the colony, prompting the Regulans to immediately begin bombarding the planet, heedless of any friendly casualties. When the Regulans left 129A-14H destined for Circinus, every planetoid in the system had been bathed in nuclear fire.[1]
