The first air unit created in the Outworlds Alliance, the First Alliance Air Wing had become the most respected unit in the Alliance. Its pilots were some of the best pilots in and out of the Inner Sphere. No one joined the First Air Wing straight out of training; pilots were selected from the other four air wings based on skill and merit. While this caused some friction with the other units, it wasn't enough to effect joint operations.

Tactics[edit]
Adept at space assaults the 1st has made it their personal mission to prevent opposing DropShips from making planetfall. The Avellar Guards are best digging in and holding static positions, but they do field enough equipment to allow for flanking and counterattacks should the situation present itself.
