Unit Description
The Third Drakøns is a Clan Ghost Bear/Rasalhague Dominion second-line combat unit which typically staffed with freeborn/native Inner Sphere warriors.
Unit History
Formation
After the merging of the Republic into the Ghost Bear Dominion, Clan Ghost Bear would by 3074 would re-organize the KungsArmé into a new Clan oriented military fighting force. Honoring the Free Rasalhague Republic's military past, the Clan retain the old KungsArmé regiments and remade into Clan Clusters, including the Third Drakøns.
Staffed by native Rasalhaguians and former KungsArmé soldiers, as part of the Clan's traditions they would have to under take series of Trials of Position to reattain their places in reformed unit. The Cluster along with other former KungsArmé regiments, would be reassigned to the newly formed Tundra Galaxy. The unit would soon be redeployed within the Dominion in order to free of Clan frontline Combat units to fight the Word of Blake in the Jihad.[1][2][3]
During the brief KungsArmé rebellion in 3076, the unit would not act in resentment of the treatment of fellow soldiers of the former KungsArmé who refused demoted or returned civilian life due to failure of winning their Trials of Position.[4]

As of 3145, the commanding officer of the Third Drakøns was Star Colonel Frank Ytredal[5]
Tactics
They like other KungsArmé related units of the Dominion, 3rd Drakøns use combat vehicles to augment their abilities and take full advantage of Clan technology prefering to use range attacks with Long-Range Missiles and artillery batteries. The Cluster like it's other Drakøns unit prefer for close-quarter combat, preferring to use melee attacks.[6]

Notes
- The 2nd Drakøns was created in 3130s, first being noted in Field Manual: 3145. There is little information as of this writer on the unit aside from basic information from the Tundra Galaxy entry for the Rasalhague Republic.
Rules
Game Rules
Field Manual: 3145 - Players having a native Rasalhagian who are Star Commanders may mount hatchet as long the mech their using has a functional hand actuator. A player must remove the appropriate criticals and equipment using the TechManual. Players installing the hatchet do not have to make any special design rolls to modify the 'Mech.[8]
