Former members of the KungsArmé were ordered to undergo a [[Trial of Position]] to retain their "warrior" ranks in the new reorganization of the Fourth. However, the Trials did not work out for some veterans in other units in the KungsArmé, those soldiers would be forced to stand down and take less active combat roles. Conspirators who felt they did not need to prove their combat worthiness would stage rebellion. The Fourth Kavalleri began actively being used during the [[Second Combine-Dominion War]] when they were chosen to strike in to the [[Draconis Combine]] to attack one of the Nova Cat's production facilities.  Ghost Bear Khan [[Aletha Kabrinski]] dispatched the unit to take [[Meilen]]. On their arrival September 17th, 3099, they would find the mercenaries who had been garrisoning the planet fleeing to their JumpShips. Seeing little resistance to their invasion, the Fourth established garrisons in the planetary capital of Lakeside and at the planet's spaceport as the public was fleeing the city from the Ghost Bears. After settling in, the small groups of the ''[[Kouki no Otakebi]]'' attack the Fourth's positions. These guerrilla tactics was meant as trap and means for the small mercenary unit to hold out against the Fourth's numbers and firepower.

After weeks of raids, the mercenaries would end up conducting large scale attack with their entire force against the Fourth's garrison at the spaceport on the 30th.  However, the Fourth proved to be too much for the ''Kouki no Otakebi'' and forced them to surrender to the Cluster. ====Trondheim====
In April, [[3100]] the Fourth would be called in to join the rest of Polar Galaxy as reinforcements to help repulse invasion of [[Trondheim (FRR)|Trondheim]]. By the time of their arrival, the Draconis Combine's regiment and their WarShip were withdrawing from the system while three of the Galaxy's [[Pocket WarShip]]s burned towards the planet.<ref>''Historical: Wars of the Republic Era'', p. 35: The Battle of Trondheim / Wave 4 - "The Fourth Kavalleri Is part of Polar Galaxy's rescue expedition to repulse the invasion of Trondheim."</ref>

====Idlewind====
The Cluster with the rest of the Polar Galaxy as part the Khan's next push into the Irece Prefecture. On November 18th, the Fourth's Galaxy made planetfall on [[Idlewind]] taking the planetary capital Leeward Cove. The Combine's First Ghost having been mauled earlier in the war would fall back with the planet's militia forces. The Fourth and other Clusters would first see probing attacks days later by the [[Yakuza]]-staffed regiment and its planetary militia counterparts.  On December 2nd two companies from the First Ghost attacked the Fourth and its sister Clusters drawing them away from the spaceport.  Combine forces freed their DropShip crews to try escape the planet with their grounded transports.  The plan ran into flaw, when Battle Armor assets of the Galaxy were guarding their DropShips.  The First Ghost escaped by stealing civilian DropShips which were not under guard by Ghost Bears. As with all Kavalleri Clusters, the Fourth's soldiers are trained in using misdirection and ambush tactics.
